About
Essentially TeachersClips is a crowd-sourced version of movieclips.com for teachers, free of charge and legal under the fair use guidelines (see Chapter 1 section 107 of Title 17 in the United States Code). As former teachers and students, we know that pop culture is more interesting than pop quizzes, and in education movies, pop music, and TV episodes have a lot to offer.
Teachers are using movie clips in their classroom to help students connect and understand material in new ways, but they have to spend lots of time searching for clips and even more time planning how they could use them. What if there was a place where teachers could find and share movie clips with one another? Unlike Teachertube, Khan Academy, Teachwithmovies, NuSkool, or TED ED, TeachersClips allows instructors and professors with an education email to upload their own media content, suggest topics, and find pop culture media from other teachers around the world for their classroom.
This website is a prototype, meaning TeachersClips as described above is not yet available or actively functioning. Our goal is to raise awareness about the project, determine the value real teachers and students see in it, and work towards making this database a reality. Interested?
